No one loves Christmas more than Pig. And the world's greediest Pug will stay up all night to get his presents!

We're new to Aaron Blabey books and have heard good things about his humor filled pictured books. While there is some humor in PIG THE ELF, over all this book missed it's mark both it's abrupt ending, and the over all story. It felt like the story was incomplete, and it lacked what we've loved about the various other Christmas & holiday books we've this season, a good story.

The just of the story is that Trevor has a good Christmas list, and Pig wants everything. While Trevor is sleeping in his dog bed, Pig decides to stay up. He ends up biting Santa's behind as he's leaving up the chimney  and continues to hold that bite until they're in the air, where he falls, and lands on top of a tall Christmas Tree. The book ends there. With the number of great holiday books we've read this season, this one falls flat for us. This cover is cute though.

I would be most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves. ~ Anna Quindlen

Good children's literature appeals not only to
the child in the adult, but to the adult in the child.
