Scholastic Book Fairs

For me when I was a kid, I loved the book fair. It was so exciting to pick out a book or two that I really, really wanted to read and it exposed me to a variety of other books I might not have normally picked up. For the past two years I've had the chance to help out/volunteer at my son's Scholastic Book Fair, which has been a ton of fun. This year was my first year to co-chair this amazing event. I abousltely love seeing the excitement on the kids's faces as they come in and see all the books. Though it's been a lot of work, it is  so worth it!

Scholastic does an awesome job at not only offering a variety of books for kids of all ages to buy, they also give back to the local schools/libraries as well as to those who need books via their One for Books companion. Be sure to go HERE and find out how you can support your local book fair! When you buy a book from the fair, you're not only helping your local school, you're helping put books into the hands of kids who need them.

If you're in the Cedar Park/Leander area stop by the Book Fair at Block House Creek Elementary school! I'll see you there!

I would be most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves. ~ Anna Quindlen

Good children's literature appeals not only to
the child in the adult, but to the adult in the child.
