Disney's BEFORE THE STORY Book Series / Book Review

Reading Age: 6-8

Purchase from: Disney Books, any online retailer, bookstore

Before the Story is an exciting, illustrated chapter book series that features your favorite Disney heroines on fun adventures as young girls.

If you know of a young reader who is a fan of Disney Princesses, then this book series is one you’ll want to read!

Disney’s BEFORE THE STORY is a great beginning reader series. Geared for readers 6-8, these easy to read stories feature Mulan, Pocahontas, Cinderella, Anna, and Elsa. The illustrations in these books are great. What’s fun about each book is that it features each character as a young girl prior to the characters we meet in their respective Disney movies.

We really enjoyed this series and recommend picking them up. Thank you to @disneybooks for providing us copies to read. My nieces will definitely enjoy reading these books!

GROUNDHUG DAY by Anne Marie Pace / Book Review

It’s Groundhog Day! Do you think he’ll see his shadow? To celebrate today I’m featuring one of our favorite picture books, GROUNDHUG DAY by Anne Marie Pace, illustrated by Christopher Denise.
It’s Groundhog Day and this group of woodlands is planning a Valentine’s Day party. They’re hoping this year their friend Groundhog can join them. When he sees his shadow, these friends decide they want to help him overcome his fear of shadows.
This adorable story is a celebration of friendship. GROUNDHUG DAY is one of our favorite picture books. I love the combination of February’s holidays in this book, and how it ends on St. Patrick’s Day (since Groundhog saw his shadow). Most importantly, I love how these friends support each other.
This is one darling story that kids of all ages can enjoy. The illustrations are absolutely adorable! If you’re looking for a book that celebrates friendship, Groundhog Day, and Valentine’s Day, pick this one up!

Here's a sneak peak inside this book's adorable illustrations.

Moose is having a Valentine's Day party, and all his friends are so excited! Everyone except Groundhog, that is. If Groundhog sees his shadow outside, he'll hide in his hole for six more weeks and miss the party! Determined to help their friend join them, Moose, Squirrel, Bunny, and Porcupine put their heads together and come up with a plan. But will it be enough to get Groundhog out to play?
This heartwarming picturebook by the author of Vampirina Ballerina, with adorable illustrations by Christopher Denise, is sure to be a hit, whether readers are bursting for spring or snuggling up for six more weeks of winter.

Hello! Happy 2021. It has been quite awhile since we've posted here on the blog. We have missed it. We have stayed far more active on our Mundie Kids Instagram account though. You can see our book features and reviews there. While I do love Instagram, I have really missed sharing book posts here on the blog. One of the things I wanted to share is World Read Aloud Day

You can find a lot of great resources for World Read Aloud Day from Lit World, and Scholastic. Be sure to visit their sites to find book lists, activities, and more. Happy Reading!
